New Market Opportunities for Personal Trainers
The report, 2019 MINDBODY Wellness Index: Fitness in America, puts about 47% of Americans in the category “trying to prioritize fitness when they can.”
The report also states three quarters of Americans are trying to make fitness a priority. Whole body EMS technology is right for those who see time as a barrier to a healthier lifestyle.
There is something magical about the ability to strength train for 20 minutes and work your entire body. In as little as 20 minutes WB EMS delivers the equivalent of an intense 90 minutes circuit training workout. Traditional workouts activate 35-65% of muscle fibers, EMS activates 95% of muscle fibers at once accelerating your metabolism and burning fat. EMS training conditions and strengthens muscles without placing stress on soft tissues and joints because you no longer need to lift heavy weights in order to achieve muscle growth.
The US Department of Health and Human Services recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity, or 75 minutes of vigorous intensity, each week. In addition, it recommends adults do muscle-strengthening activities on two or more days a week. A 20 minute whole body EMS training session two times a week fills the requirement nicely.
Fitness businesses must also keep time constraints in mind when offering classes or services, as this is a hindrance for many. As time appears to be a common issue, it is worth exploring how healthy habits and investments can be made where most adults spend the majority of their lives—at work. There is opportunity to support healthy lifestyles for employees at their workplace and accommodate time-pressed Americans.
Whole body EMS is the perfect solution. Now that the technology is wireless (and mobile) trainers can offer the service in the client’s gym, home, even office. The technology saves time for both the trainer and the client. Perhaps more importantly, the benefits and convenience of EMS training can help those who have not found a way to make exercise a part of their lives enter the fitness market.
